Windmill Hill City Farm deliver an employment service for people mental health issues in Bristol as part of Bristol Mental Health Employment Service. Our service provides opportunities to build employability skills and become able to job seek independently, and be supported to enter volunteering and other services.
The 8 week work placements at the farm aim to help work ready individuals to develop specific employment and core personal skills that will help towards finding employment.
The Gardening Placement runs from 8 weeks, every Tuesday from June 20th to August 8th. The placement is for individuals who:
-have experienced mental health challenges.
– are thinking of gardening and grounds maintenance as a career option.
– want to get back into a work routine.
During the 8 weeks, the placement will focus on developing skills and knowledge in propagation and food production, ground maintenance, grass cutting, hedge trimming, fencing and more.
You will be supported during the placement to work towards some specific work related goals and take steps for getting into employment.
This is a great opportunity for individuals who would like to build experience of gardening and outdoor work. No experience is necessary but an interest to learn more is required.
