Highways Maintenance (Construction) Apprentice x 3
The StreetCare Design and Operations Team in South Gloucestershire Council are looking for 3 enthusiastic apprentices to join their frontline team contributing to the delivery of Highways work. The Highways Apprentices will undertake the delivery of frontline highway maintenance, civil engineering and structural engineering schemes throughout South Gloucestershire.
You will be based in one of our experienced construction teams undertaking the physical construction a wide variety of features including, site clearance, fencing, drainage, earthworks, pavements, kerbing, footways, block paving, traffic signs, road markings and retaining walls.
As an apprentice you will receive guidance and supervision from your workplace supervisor. You will also have a workplace mentor to support you. This is a limited term contract for 24 months, where you will undertake a Level 2 Highways Maintenance Skilled Operative Apprenticeship. This involves residential training with the selected provider, Telford College, for 1 week every month for the first 6 months which will be repeated at a later stage in the academic year. The remainder of your time will be spent on the job learning.
