Business Support Apprentice

Are you looking to kick start your career in an office environment?

As our apprentice your enthusiasm and willingness to learn will be a welcome addition to our team at South Gloucestershire Council who are making a real difference to the lives of the people who live, work and learn here.

We’ve achieved a great deal, but were ambitious about the future. Join us and be part of something bigger.

How you’ll make a difference:

As our apprentice you’ll learn how to support the appeals officers by undertaking a variety of administration duties such as; postal duties, scanning, downloading and allocating photographs to cases, dealing with parking permits, monitoring the email inbox and dealing with enquiries or passing to the appropriate team member for action.  You’ll spend some time shadowing our (very nice) Civil Enforcement Officers travelling throughout South Gloucestershire to understand why Penalty Charge Notices are issued.

Once you feel settled you’ll help us answer the telephone and speak to our residents or transfer calls to other team members.  And if that isn’t enough for you and you want to learn more, we can train you to develop knowledge of the statutory processes and traffic regulations to respond to challenges and appeals against issued Penalty Charge Notices.

We will allocate you a workplace mentor to give you guidance and support throughout your 13 month apprenticeship and completion of a Level 2 in Business Administration.
