Under One Roof

A new service is being launched in Bristol to support people who are rough sleeping, and those currently at risk.

Under One Roof will bring together a range of agencies to provide a monthly half-day session where rough sleepers and people at risk of rough sleeping can get advice on welfare benefits, training, employment, referrals and signposting.

The aim is to help people at risk of homelessness and those who are rough sleeping to move away from rough sleeping by enabling them to access services, advice and information to address their welfare benefits, employment and health issues and to gain a clear understanding of their housing options.  Where possible, this will be a one-stop-shop.

The sessions will take place on Wednesday afternoons, at the Salvation Army Citadel, 6 Ashley Road.

The sessions brings together the DWP, Bristol City Council, Shelter, Second Step, BDP, The Salvation Army and a range of homelessness agencies.  It will be hosted at the Salvation Army Citadel, 6 Ashley Road, BS6 5RW.

The official launch will be Monday 16th March from 3pm – 5pm and conducted by Marvin Rees. If you would like to attend please contact Gillian.knight1@dwp.gov.uk to reserve your space.

The first session for service users of Under One Roof will be on 6th May, 13:00-16:00, The Citadel (foyer area)

It is planned that the sessions will evolve as a result of customer feedback over the year.

If you think that your organisation can assist in this work, please contact Gill Knight to discuss further.
