1. Bristol City Council is in the process of contacting businesses about helping them return to work safely while continuing to face the challenges posed by COVID-19. Please see attached. 3. Bristol City Council is launching a new regular email for businesses in Bristol this week. You can sign up here. Much like Items of Interest, which it is likely to replace in the future, the email will include news, updates and information to ensure businesses are supported through this uncertain time and beyond. 4.The Community Fund has launched a 200m emergency fund aimed primarily at small to medium organisations in England. The scheme forms part of the UK Government’s 750m financial support package for charities and social enterprises announced in April. 5.Bristol Arts Channel – a lockdown lifeline for audiences missing the buzz and community of Bristol’s brilliant arts scene – will bring together venues and artists from across the city to create moments of online togetherness; more here.

7. UWE Bristol have launched their Undergraduate Summer Internships Scheme 2020. The Scheme has been redesigned to offer support to SME’s, start-ups and charities during this challenging time. You can now employ a UWE Bristol student with full-funding provided – boosting your business, helping to aid economic recovery and providing essential work experience. Funding is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Full scheme details can be found here.
8. Travelwest have teamed up with Love to Ride to get more people to #ChooseCycling. Sign up for free here to win prizes and encourage others to get on their bike! Cycling is a great way to get some exercise, moves more people using less space than any other mode of transport, and is also an inexpensive way to travel. This June is Bike Month; you and your colleagues could win new bikes, 500 donations to Key Workers initiatives, and daily spot prizes.
