The IMPACT project at Groundwork, which we are currently delivering online via Zoom. Following the success of our first programme cohort, we are now open for referrals ahead of our next programme starting in October 2020.
What is IMPACT?
IMPACT is a completely free service. We provide a relaxed and friendly environment to support refugees and migrants to build their confidence and gain useful skills for life in the UK. We offer three strands in the project:
- ‘Create and Communicate’ sessions: Weekly workshops bringing people together and practising English through relaxing crafting and creative activities, often inspired by nature.
- Preparation for work: This includes weekly workshops where we meet experts and learn about their professional journey and weekly group employment skills sessions. We also offer one-to-one employment advice and guidance over the phone/Zoom.
- Language – group English conversation: Weekly sessions where we speak and practise English while discussing diverse topics.
- Language – one-to-one English conversation: We also offer additional one-to-one language support for those with low levels of English over the phone.
Our next programme starts the week beginning 5th October 2020 and is for 11 weeks. Participants are also welcome to register at any point in the programme.
