Prince’s Trust Upcoming Courses

The Prince’s Trust have on offer for young people at the moment. Currently in the South West of England we are running all of our delivery online through Microsoft teams and using phone contact with young people to ensure the safety of everyone.

Get Started with Boxing (16-25)

Each day will cover a boxing technique, building up an individual’s skill level. We will also include boxing-related fitness and a non-physical session on basic nutrition or guest speakers from real boxers and coaches. Young people can also look forward to discussions around what it takes to begin a career as a boxer and learning about life skills.

Get Ready for Work (16-30)

A 3 day online course with 1:1 follow up support that will support young people to navigate a job search engine, create a CV and confidently apply for jobs. At the end of the course they should feel much better equipped for finding and securing a job that they want.

Main Programme: Monday 19th – Wednesday 21st October

Get Started with Spoken Word (16-30)

Young People will learn Rhyming techniques, Half Rhymes and End Rhymes, plus writing techniques. How to use Metaphors and Similes to construct a verse and support to develop performances and writing skills.

Build Confidence and Resilience. Exploring Mental Health and Wellbeing while supporting the young people to develop new coping strategy.

Main Programme: Monday 26th October – Friday 6th November

Enterprise (18-30)

Over four days you’ll get to meet like-minded people. You’ll also have the chance to tap into a business adviser, covering everything from business planning and marketing to sales, budgeting and tax.

Welcome Session (16-30)

We are hosting weekly welcome sessions for young people who want to find out more information about The Prince’s Trust and our opportunities. These will be held through Microsoft Teams in a video conference format. Young people can watch the presentation and get involved as much as they want. Afterwards, a staff member will follow up 1:1 and progress them onto our programmes.

Explore (16-25)

Explore is a 2-week personal development programme which offers young people group activities and one-to-one support to help build confidence, get motivated, meet new people and identify and achieve their goals. We also develop employability and independent living skills. Personal development qualifications are available in Interpersonal & Self-management Skills, Participating in Exercise, Healthy Lifestyle, Career Planning, Money Management, and Presentation Skills.
