Avon Fire and Rescue Service has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Business Partner for Media & Engagement to join Avon Fire & Rescue Service’s (AF&RS) Corporate Communications team. Under the supervision of the PR & Engagement Business Partner, you will be responsible for the delivery of effective and impactful external communications, media, public relations and engagement across multiple channels to achieve departmental objectives aligned to AF&RS values.
You will design and develop targeted and creative AF&RS campaigns, feeding into national fire and rescue service campaigns by using audience insight and behaviour changing strategies, to improve the Service’s ability to communicate effectively with our communities. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running and oversight of AF&RS’s social media presence, generating engaging content, populating our corporate channels of communication and supporting staff operating on AF&RS social media platforms.
It is a requirement of this role that you represent AF&RS as a media officer; therefore, you will be required to be part of an out-of-hours rota, acting as a spokesperson to the local and national media on incidents and other organisational issues.
