It’s Babbasa here.
We are excited to invite you to join us for a short virtual stakeholder event on Wednesday 28th October 2020.
The adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on class inequality, racial tensions and fundamental systemic changes in society and economy, is set to affect the life chances of young people from low income and ethnic minority inner city communities, for more than a generation.
In September 2020, Babbasa completed the three-part #BridgeToEquality research report to understand the needs of ethnically diverse young people and employers in Bristol. The report objective was to assess how to bridge the employment and opportunity equality gap. In the report, 79% of the main barriers to progression identified by inner city young people were lack of information, experience and skills.
We invite you to attend a virtual key stakeholder event on Wednesday 28th October 2020, 10-12 or 6-8pm to:
1. Learn about the insightful findings from the report for consideration in your area of work
2. Help us refine the recommendations from the report so it can be developed into a plan for the city
3. Hear about how Babbasa is responding to the findings to identify areas for collaboration
Taking into consideration your feedback, we plan to produce an evidence based ‘Theory of Change’ and a robust plan to support local young people and employers. We also aim to embark on a public campaign to get commitment from city leaders and institutions towards a long term challenge.
