CAREERS FAIR

BLUE MONDAY
JOBS FAIR 18 JAN 2021

THIS EVENT:

Blue Monday 2021 was on Monday 18 January, 11am to 3pm.

Local organisations offered help, advice and support to make it a day of empowerment, opportunity and a fresh start.

For 2021 advice agencies and employers with job vacancies were available online and by phone.

If you were unable to attend the event, you can still see the organisations who were here to help and their contact details. They were available live on the day and may take longer to reply now that the event is over.

Blue Monday is organised by Bristol City Council’s Employment Support Team (Ways2Work and Future Bright), Centre for Sustainable Energy, Department for Work and Pensions, and the National Careers Service.

WAYS2WORK

Ways2Work works with employment and training organisations to help train and get residents of Bristol into employment and fill skills shortages in Bristol.

We work with our partner organisations to ensure a joined up route to sustained careers for Bristol residents as well as supporting our local employers to thrive.

NATIONAL CAREERS SERVICE

The National Careers Service website offers online tools such as skills assessments to match your skills to jobs that might suit you, as well as a careers advice section with advice on CVs and interview techniques and how to look for jobs.

DEPARTMENT FOR WORK AND PENSIONS

The Department for Work and Pensions/Jobcentre Plus helps people move from benefits into work and helps employers advertise jobs. It also deals with benefits for people who are unemployed or unable to work because of a health condition or disability.

FUTURE BRIGHT

Future Bright offers FREE career coaching, training and support to help you develop the skills and confidence you need to take your next step. When you join Future Bright, you’ll be matched with a dedicated career coach who will support you to create a personalised action plan.

During the Coronavirus outbreak, our coaches continue to support residents by using telephone and online tools to stay in touch safely.

CENTRE FOR

We can advise on getting the best deal from your energy supplier, financial assistance and maximising income, insulating your home and available grants, replacing old/inefficient heating systems, saving money on your fuel bills and tips on dealing with damp and mould.
