Construction and Health & Safety Courses

Reform Training and Skills can deliver their courses to learners who live outside the West of England LEP as their delivery takes place from Bristol.

The remote delivery model will still provide the Level 1 Certificate in Basic Construction Skills and Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment over four days, with funded CSCS tests and cards when the test centres reopen.

The Course date is  currently as following:

  • May BH Mon 25/5/2020

Eligibility is as follows:

Aged 18 or over (this is a European Social Fund contract – different eligibility criteria to AEB) Unemployed, whether claiming benefit or not (as above) Eligible to work in the UK/EU (Reform Training will need to see birth certificate, work visa or passport through their device camera). They can self-declare if they don’t have these.

Proof of address (driving licence, utility bill, council tax statement, bank statement – through their device camera)

In addition, learners must have access to broadband/wifi (mobile data will not be adequate) and a PC/laptop/tablet (they will need to be able to read presentations etc on screen). Delivery is by Microsoft Teams with workbooks posted to learners the week prior. This pack will include a franked SAE for return of workbooks. Once maximum capacity for one course has been reached subsequent referrals will be put on the next available.

Reform Training will take referrals by email if you are happy to do so by email to headoffice@rtas.ltd and these learners can come from Somerset, Devon, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the West of England area and beyond.

For referrals they will need:

  • Name
  • Full address including postcode
  • Date of birth
  • NINO
  • Mobile number
  • Email
  • Benefit claimed.

If JCP staff can confirm that learners have declared £0 income at time of referral that would be excellent. This then satisfies an evidence requirement Reform Trainng would then not need to ask the learner to provide. Emails will need to have the sender’s DWP email signature.

Spaces are limited so please only refer those who are committed to completing the course.
