This year Travelwest have teamed up with Love to Ride to run a Bristol specific site to get more Bristolians on bikes, provide more opportunity to win prizes, get access to cycling information, and join an online cycling community.
Its coming up to Love to Ride’s main event Cycle September, which will run for the entire month of September with lots of national and local prize draws to be won! It’s free for individuals and organisations and there are some fantastic prizes to be won for riding and encouraging others.
Please take a minute to find out more and register at www.lovetoride.net/bristol, and do share with your colleagues, clients and business contacts! – I have attached a social media size graphic and a poster. Love to Ride’s main social media channels are Twitter: @LovetoRide_, Facebook: @lovetoride.net, and Instagram: @lovetorideglobal. Please tag us and we’ll repost wherever possible to amplify your reach. Staff who ride to work take half the sick leave of their non-cycling colleagues and are more energetic and productive.
We also have our Travelwest Active October challenge coming up, keep a look out for more info on this coming in September.
Wheels to Work
As many of you will already know, Wheels to Work offers up to 1 month of free bus tickets and a £100 discount on a refurbished bike to Bristol residents who are looking for work, or starting a new job or training course.
We are expecting that more people will be out of work in the coming months as the furlough scheme ends, and we would like to be there to support your clients during this time. If you aren’t already signed up as a Wheels to Work partner, or you’d like to find out more, do get in touch! – firstname.lastname@example.org / email@example.com
Free Wesport webinar on physical and mental health in the workplace
Travelwest have teamed up with Wesport (The West of England Sport Trust) to provide a free 1 hour webinar to staff based at any Bristol business on 9th September at 1pm . The 1 hour session will be all about how being physically active in and around the working day can help you maintain good mental wellbeing. Lisa from Wesport will explore how physical activity can help reduce stress and give you support and advice to embed into your daily life. It will also be an opportunity to hear about what support is available from Travelwest for your business. We are also able to fund these workshops in your own organisation with our Travelwest Small Grant – get in touch if this is of interest at firstname.lastname@example.org!
