Skills Support for the Workforce / Skills Support for Redundancy – West of England

This information was sent to Ways2Work by another organisation. For more details please use the contact details or links in the post below.

I just wanted to send a note with a bit of an update on our two LEP driven skills programmes that are operating in the West of England region.

The Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW)  programme continues to build momentum and helps support small & medium businesses in the West of England to upskill their employees with training courses & qualifications to help their business grow.  The SSW programme is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), so a wide range of training can be accessed at no cost to the business.  There are 100s of courses on offer including leadership & management, digital skills, logistics and many more. We will work with the business to identify their business’ training needs to support their business goals. So far over 590 employees from 220 businesses have benefitted from the programme in the West of England.  I have attached a list below of the short videos relevant to SSW that can be embedded into newsletters etc.

The Skills Support for Redundancy (SSR) programme is an initiative designed to support employers and individuals affected by redundancy.  SSR is a tailored service to meet needs, offering a wide range of training support.  A dedicated Partnership Coordinator will work with the employer or individual to identify the best sources of support and training to help them upskill or retrain and get back into the workforce.  A wide range of training is on offer through our network of expert training providers including: IT & digital skills, Team leading & project management, Warehousing and storage, Construction, Health and social care, Customer service, Business administration, Communication, Starting your own business, and many more.  The SSR programme is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), so the support can be accessed at no cost* to the business or individual.  *subject to eligibility.  I have attached our videos specific to people that might have been made redundant and wanting to get into the Construction, Digital, Warehousing, Health & Social Care sector.

If you can help us to raise awareness of these two programmes through your networks, newsletters etc that would be great.  We want to make sure as many employers and individuals know about these fully funded programmes as possible.
