GAMCARE Supporting 11-19 year olds who are gambling

Please find attached an offer from Gamcare of training to support 11-19 years olds who are gambling.  Please contact Gamcare direct if those you are supporting may be interested in attending a session.  You may also wish to display the briefing document.

Colleagues in Essex attended workshops run by Gamcare and have asked that I share their literature with you all, they described it as an eye opener. This organisation runs awareness workshops for young people who may have a gambling problem.

Is gambling a big deal for young people?

  •  14% young people in the Great Britain spend their own money on some form of gambling each week (IPSOS Mori 2018).
  • The financial, social and mental health impacts of gambling are a major area of safeguarding concern for young people.

What can we do about it?

  • GamCare offers FREE one-hour interactive awareness workshops for young people aged 11-19, delivered by our BigDeal Youth Outreach Team.
  • Workshops are ideal for school lessons and youth club sessions.
