Get on Track disability programme

This information was sent to Ways2Work by another organisation. For more details please use the contact details or links in the post below.

The Get on Track programme is all about helping you build your skills, gain confidence, and do some varied activities to help you get into or support you in employment or training (or whatever you may want to do). We’ve had a lot of success in the past and look forward to helping you in the same way. We have a taster session on Thursday 18th February 2021 3 pm – 4 pm via Zoom. If you wish to participate, we can send you this link early next week when this goes out to the other young people who have already signed up.

Liz Johnson and David Hill will be delivering the programme. They have both represented Great Britain at multiple World and European Championships and the Paralympic Games, Liz is a former swimmer and has won a Gold, Silver and Bronze medal at three different Paralympic Games. David has competed in two Paralympic Games in two separate events, Triathlon and Swimming. David is a multiple World & European Medallist alongside world record holder. My colleague Gabs and I will be there at every session to support you where needed and get involved in all the activities.

There are some videos with more information here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUWU0wrbtepb702588wNmZQ.

You will also get the chance to meet other athletes throughout the programme as we like them to come in and deliver sessions and tell their stories where you can ask them questions. If you wanted to look at some case studies from the previous Get on Track programme’s if you follow this link, it direct you to the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust website to view them. Ahead of the taster session Thursday 18th February here is some information on the Programme:

  • 46 x group online Zoom sessions with an Athlete Mentor ending the second week of November 2021
  • Each session is average 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Optional monthly 1:1 check-ins with an Athlete Mentor

You don’t need to join with video/microphone if this is something you are worried about – we can use the chat function. If you are not very familiar with zoom, it is pretty straightforward but feel free to get in touch if you need any help.

If you’re not sure about this programme, I would recommend logging in to the taster session or getting in touch to have a chat about the programme in more detail.
