As you know, in 2018 we are prioritising mental health as the key issue for businesses and organisations to address.
Time to Talk is an annual event organised by Time to Change which takes place on 1 February. This is an ideal opportunity to start conversations in your workplace about mental health issues. Some of you will already be planning events which encourage staff and managers to discuss their experiences of how mental health affects the workplace. I am sending links which relate to that in case any of you missed the information due to the holidays. It includes the offer of workshops from our colleagues at the Mental Health and Employment Service, Wesport and alcohol awareness sessions. Remploy are holding a free event for local organisations to discuss the impact of mental health and exchange ideas about how best to support employees. This 3 hour session will be a mix of networking, presentations and activities and will focus on:
- Discover the support available to employees via the Access to Work Workplace Mental Health Support Service.
- Discuss with other participants the real life examples of the triggers, effects and impact of mental health in their workplace.
- Exchange ideas and set an action plan of how best to minimise the impact of mental health on businesses through awareness raising and integration of the Access to Work, Workplace Mental Health Support Service
Remploy will provide advice and support following the session via the Access to Work Workplace Mental Health Support Service and to implement ideas and actions raised during session activities.
