Bell Group UK is one of the largest painting, decorating and building maintenance contractors in the UK. Our national branch network employs 170 apprentices and we currently have over 1800 directly employed staff.
We are recruiting for a number of apprentices to work out of our Bristol branch, to start in September 2020. We are offering a level 2, three year apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating, leading to the new national Standard qualification.
- We pay above the National Apprentice hourly wage rate and have a separate rate for older applicants.
- All apprentices receive on the job training four days a week and study one day a week at our Decorating Academy – SGS College in Filton.
- Our apprentices each have a designated mentor.
- All apprentices benefit from our in-house training programme.

Q: What do I need to do now?

Q: What will happen at the Apprentice Interviews and Information Session?
A: The session will be an opportunity for you to meet the local branch team and to understand what Apprenticeships are available. During the session you will have a short interview one to one interview with the member of the team; hear about the qualification from our colleagues at SGS College and have a tour of the Construction Skills Centre.
Q: What do I need to bring with me on the day?
A: If you have any previous relevant qualifications please bring along any certificates. Otherwise you do not need to bring anything with you on the day.
Q: What do I need to wear?
A: This is your opportunity to make a first impression with our teams. We would advise you dress smartly.
Q: Is there parking at the venue?
A: Paid parking is available but limited. Please see SGS College website for further information and details of bus and train services.
Q: What will happen after the Session?
A: If you are successful you will be asked to complete a weeks work placement. Final interviews will take place shortly after.
Q: Will I be considered if I already have a qualification in this field?
A: Yes. We have various opportunities available.
Q: Can I apply if I applied last year?
Q: If I am unsuccessful, do you provide feedback or alternative options?
A: Feedback can be available upon request. We have strong links with colleges across the country and will help to signpost you to an appropriate college should your application be unsuccessful with us at this stage.
