Ways2Work Thursday Update

19th March 2020

Another day, another update!

Bristol City Council’s guidance can be found here: https://www.bristol.gov.uk/crime-emergencies/coronavirus-covid-19-what-you-need-to-know

Latest updates:

  • Citizen Service Point services at 100 Temple St will be limited to emergencies – all other services can be accessed online or by telephone.
  • Bristol Libraries are closed until further notice with measures to be put in place re. fines and renewals
  • Bristol Museums are closed – initially until 1st May.

We’re hoping to have more information about Bristol schools closures soon.

Central Government information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response

National guidance on school closures is here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/schools-colleges-and-early-years-settings-to-close.

There is also guidance on social distancing – what does it really mean and why do it?

Meanwhile, we’ve updated our online resources section here: https://ways2work.org.uk/jobseeking-resources-where-to-next/

Thanks for the suggestions! We’ve got 11 online course providers on there now with a short description and links. One of them that you may be able to help us with is YouTube. There are a lot of learning and jobseeking YouTube channels out there, we’ll be updating the website with specifics once we’ve researched further. If you have a favourite, then please let us know and we’ll include it.

Please keep us updated with your services so we can share!

Handshake alternative, (link to National Geographic – sadly not fans of the elbow bump L).
